About Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon
Sacramento Valley National Cemetery is one of 124 cemeteries in the National Cemetery system in the United States. It is a little over 500 acres located 3 miles southwest of Dixon, Solano County, California. The land where it is located in Northern California was used extensively as farmland between the 1860’s through 2004. The first military burials were in 2006. The Department of Veteran’s Affairs states that this cemetery should serve the needs of the region for the next 50 years. There are thousands of uniform military headstones and niches throughout the complex with beautiful water features and several monuments dedicated to the veteran’s and their families. It is open from sunrise to sunset.
