Veterans Memorial

The Gold Star Veterans Memorial is a large memorial installation located in Hayward, CA at Lone Tree Cemetery. With the use of multiple 6″ thick black granite uprights, the whole of the monument rests on the large black granite base. The letters on the front of the memorial are cast in bronze and polished, while the back scenes and letters are beautifully etched.

America has many memorials and monuments giving honor to the patriots who have sacrificed and given their lives for our freedom, and paying tribute to those who have faithfully served in our Armed Forces since becoming a nation. There is one group of our citizens, the families of a loved one who gave their lives to protect our freedom and to give freedom to many who have never experienced it. The sacrifices of those Gold Star families have never been given recognition and honor for their sacrifice and suffering to keep America free.

The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument honors those families who sacrificed more than most of us and illustrates that America has citizens in every community and town willing to make such sacrifices. The memorial monument further illustrates that families suffer and grieve when a dear relative is lost. Without their sacrifices, freedom could not and would not have been preserved. The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument is appropriate in any community, Veterans Park, Memorial Park, City park, or veteran’s Cemetery as a tribute to all the families who gave one of their own for all of us.

The Memorial Dedication

“The “Gold Star Families Memorial Monument – California” is going to be located and built at Lone Tree Cemetery in Hayward, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our goal is to build a Gold Star Families Memorial Monument to forever Honor and Remember our KIA military heroes and their Gold Star Families.

A Gold Star Family is a relative of a U. S. Military member of the Armed Forces of the United States that has sacrificed their lives for our country, our way of life, and the American Flag under which they served.

We have been asked by a WWII veteran, a survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima, and Medal of Honor recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams to help him with his dream and goal of building at least one Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in all 50 States of the USA. We have the honor of having been selected by Woody to be the first Gold Star Families Memorial Monument built in our great State of California.”
